Media Release – Warrant and Drug Arrest

On Thursday, May 9^th the Criminal Investigations and Drug unit located a male who was wanted on an arrest warrant by the OPP near Walmart in Port Elgin. 

A 36 year old male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and for driving while under suspension.  A search incident to arrest revealed that he had a quantity of crystal methamphetamine.

Under the Highway Traffic Act the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The male was turned over to the OPP and held for a bail hearing.

Charges:

1. Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – methamphetamine
2. Driving while under suspensions – court judgement
