Police Presence – No Threat to Public Safety
On Thursday April 18th 2019, Saugeen Shores Police received information that a male was in possession of a firearm and had made threats towards police on a social media webpage.
Police located the male walking on Goderich Street in Port Elgin and conducted a high-risk arrest of the accused. The accused was safely taken into custody. Investigation revealed that the firearm was not real.
A 34 year-old male has been charged with uttering a threat to cause death. He was released from the Saugeen Shores Police Service with a future court date.
There is no risk to public safety.
