Media Release – Fail to Stop for Police – Warrant Sought

A warrant has been obtained for the arrest of a Dangerous Driver who failed to stop for Police.
On March 26th 2019, Saugeen Shores Police observed a vehicle in Port Elgin committing a Highway Traffic Act violation. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle, at which time the male driver fled at a high rate of speed, making no attempt to stop for police. The driver continued to drive in an erratic and dangerous manner, forcing oncoming vehicle to take evasion action to avoid a collision. Police did not initiate a pursuit.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified by police, and a warrant was sought for his arrest on numerous charges including Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Flight from Police.
