Drugs and Weapons Arrest
Media Release – Drugs and Weapons
On February 28th, 2019 the Saugeen Shores Police Service received a complaint from a concerned citizen about a male passed out in a vehicle in Port Elgin.
Officers arrived on scene to check on the well-being of the male. An officer observed evidence of drug possession in the vehicle. The male and a female, who was also associated to the vehicle, were placed under arrest.
A search of the vehicle revealed a substance believed to be “purple fentanyl” Also located in the vehicle was crystal methamphetamine and prohibited knife.
A 35 year old Mount Forest women has been charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance – opioid
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Fail to comply with a recognizance – drug prohibition
- Fail to comply with a recognizance – weapon prohibition
A 58 year old Walkerton man has been charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance – opioid
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
Both were released with a court date.
