Drugs and Weapons Charges

DRUG & WEAPONS CHARGES – Port Elgin

On Friday, February 1st, the members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service - Criminal Investigations/Drugs unit were conducting observations in the downtown core of Port Elgin in relation to continued complaints of drug activity.

At 8:38pm, a traffic stop was conducted by Uniform Patrol officers and 4 occupants were arrested in relation to this drug investigation.

A quantity of prescription narcotics, crystal meth, paraphernalia, an expandable baton and “Pepper” spray were seized.  

A 19 year old male of No Fixed Address was charged with:

1)Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance (oxycodone)
2)Carry Concealed Weapon (Expandable Baton)
3)Carry Concealed Weapon (“Pepper” spray)
4)Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (“Pepper” Spray)

A 40 year old Bruce County woman was charged with:

1)Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance (Meth)

A 25 year old Bruce County male was charged with:

1)Fail to comply with Recognizance

A 22 year old female and her 2 month old child from Waterdown were released at the scene with no charges.  Child and Family Services is involved in the investigation.   The 3 accused persons were released with future Court Dates to answer to the charges.
